A85 Barnhill Interchange | Overnight Closure

A85 Barnhill Interchange
21st of September 2025, 7:30pm to 22nd of September 2025, 6:30am

Amey is undertaking overnight retexturing work on the A85 slip road from Perth towards Dundee at Barnhill Interchange, near Friarton Bridge, on Sunday 21st September.

The work, which Amey is undertaking on behalf of Transport Scotland, will restore the surface texture and improve skid resistance.

To ensure the safety of roadworkers and motorists the essential maintenance will be carried out under an overnight closure of the A85 towards Dundee between 7.30pm on Sunday 21st September and 6.30am on Monday 22nd September.

Traffic will still be able to exit at Junction 11 at Barnhill Interchange and use the A85 to travel into Perth.

The following diversion will be in place during the closure.

Traffic wishing to leave Perth City Centre for Dundee will be diverted north onto the A85 towards Bridgend where they can join the A93 and follow the route until they reach the A9294.

Turning left onto the A9294 traffic can then follow the route to eventually join the A9, travelling south towards Inveralmond Roundabout and then Broxden Roundabout, before joining the M90 where they can use Junction 10 to travel towards Dundee.

The diversion route will require 17 minutes additional journey time.

Please note, all schemes are weather dependent and may be cancelled or rescheduled if weather conditions are not favourable.
