A84 Dobbies, Stirling | Pedestrian Crossing Installation
BEAR Scotland, on behalf of Transport Scotland, are set to install new pedestrian crossing facilities on the A84 near Dobbies on the west edge of Stirling, with works starting on Wednesday 1 October.
The works involve installing a refuge island, dropped kerbs and tactile paving. The road markings and studs along this stretch of road will also be refreshed and signs to warn road users of the new crossing will be installed.
Works will be carried out between the hours of 8am and 6pm, Monday to Friday, and are expected to be completed by Thursday 16 October.
To ensure the safety of the workforce and members of the travelling public, three-way temporary traffic lights will be in place for the duration of the works. Traffic management will be removed outwith working hours where possible.
A short diversion for pedestrians will also be in place to guide them through the works.
Access for emergency services and scheduled bus services will be maintained for the full duration of the works.
Consultation has taken place with all relevant stakeholders in advance of the crossing installation to make them aware of the traffic management arrangements and to minimise any inconvenience.
Euan Scott, BEAR Scotland’s North West Representative said: “The installation of a pedestrian crossing on the A84 at Dobbies, Stirling will create a safe crossing location and improve road markings, greatly improving safety for road users.
“Our teams will carry out these works quickly, with safety as our top priority. We thank the local community and road users for their patience while we complete the improvements.”
