A84 Craigforth | Overnight Resurfacing
BEAR Scotland, on behalf of Transport Scotland, are set to carry out resurfacing on the A84 between Craigforth Roundabout and Auction Mart Roundabout, west of Stirling from Monday 20 July.
Works will be carried out between the hours of 7pm and 6am and are expected to be completed by Tuesday 4 August. No works will be undertaken on Friday or Saturday evenings.
To protect the workforce and members of the travelling public, temporary traffic lights with a will be in use when works are taking place, with road users escorted through the site at 10mph by a convoy vehicle.
Other lane restrictions will be necessary to complete all of the intended works, with the eastbound approach to Craigforth Roundabout to be restricted to a single lane to facilitate the required surfacing operation in this area. Similarly, Auld Mart Roundabout and its approaches will be reduced to a single lane to facilitate the works in this area.
In addition, the M9 Junction 10 northbound off-slip will be closed each night between Monday 20 July and Friday 31 July, with a signed diversion route implemented from the motorway. The M9 Junction 10 northbound on-slip will remain open each night throughout the works period.
To minimise disruption to the public, all lane restrictions and slip closures will be removed outwith working hours.
Access for emergency services and scheduled bus services will be maintained for the full duration of the works. Temporary bus stops will be in place within the site extents.
Consultation has taken place with all relevant stakeholders to make them aware of the proposed traffic management arrangements in advance of works commencing and to minimise any inconvenience.
Euan Burnett, BEAR Scotland’s North West Planned Maintenance Manager said: “This resurfacing on the A84 between Craigforth Roundabout and Auction Mart Roundabout will fix existing defects in the road surface and upgrade road markings, greatly improving quality and safety for road users.
