BEAR Scotland, on behalf of Transport Scotland, will be carrying out essential footway improvement works in the village of Callander on the A84. Works are planned to commence on Main Street between Murdiston Avenue and Drummond Place on Monday 7 October.
These footway improvement works have a programmed duration of 15 days, commencing from Monday 7 October between the hours of 9.30am and 3pm and are expected to be complete on the afternoon of Friday 25 October, weather dependent.
Due to the nature of the works and to protect both roadworkers and road users, it will be necessary to use temporary traffic lights and footway closures with diversions in place for pedestrians.
Access through the worksite for emergency vehicles will be maintained at all times.
Ian Stewart, BEAR Scotland’s North West Representative said; “These essential footway improvement works will upgrade the existing footways, greatly improving the quality and safety for pedestrians and road users. Dropped kerbs and tactile paving will also be introduced to help people with disabilities get around.
“Our teams will do all they can to complete the works as quickly and safely as they can, and we thank the local community and road users for their patience in advance while we complete these works. We encourage motorists to plan ahead before setting out by checking the Traffic Scotland website for up-to-date travel information.”
