BEAR Scotland, on behalf of Transport Scotland, is set to carry out works to replace the safety barrier on the A830 on the approach to Mallaig from Monday 13 July.

Works will be carried out between the hours of 8am to 6pm and are expected to be completed on Monday 27 July.

For the safety of the workforce and members of the travelling public, 24 hour traffic lights will be in place Monday to Friday. A 30mph speed limit will also be in operation 24 hours a day, including weekends, until works are completed.

Consultation has taken place with relevant stakeholders in advance of these works to make them aware of the traffic management arrangements and to minimise any inconvenience.

Michael Baxter, BEAR Scotland’s North West Improvements Scheme Manager said: “This safety barrier replacement project is key to the ongoing safe operation of the A830.

“The works have been planned to minimise disruption to road users as far as possible, however some delays may be experienced, especially during peak times.

“We thank road users in advance for their patience and understanding while our teams carry out these essential works, and ask that the temporary speed limit is adhered to.”
