A83 Through Arrochar | Carriageway Improvements
Works to commence on Tuesday 10 February 2026 for 20 nights
Temporary traffic lights with convoy for the first half of the village
Road closure with hourly amnesties for the second half of the village
BEAR Scotland, on behalf of Transport Scotland, will carry out overnight carriageway resurfacing works on the A83 trunk road west of Tarbet, through the village of Arrochar.
Set to enhance road safety and surface conditions for road users, these works are planned to start on the night of Tuesday 10 February 2026 between the hours of 19:00 and 06:00.
To protect the workforce, this section of the A83 will be subject to appropriate traffic management measures:
Arrochar Phase 1: Temporary traffic lights and a 10mph convoy will be operated overnight from Tuesday 10 February until the morning of Tuesday 24 February.
Arrochar Phase 2: From Tuesday 24 February to the morning of Tuesday 10 March, overnight closures will be in place with amnesties provided to allow road users to pass through the site safely at 8pm, 9pm, 10pm, 11pm, midnight, 1am, 2am, 3am, 4am and 5am.
There will be no works taking place on Friday and Saturday nights.
Traffic management measures will be removed outwith working hours. However, speed restrictions will remain in place during the day as traffic will be running on a temporary surface with no road markings.
Access through the works sites for emergency services will be maintained at all times.
