A83 Three Locations At Tarbert | Resurfacing Works
UPDATE (09/10/2026): Due to the poor weather forecast, road resurfacing on the A83 at Tarbert could not go ahead last night (Thursday 8 October) and will resume on Monday 12 October. Works are now scheduled to be completed by the morning of Friday 30 October.
Meall Mhor North Lodge and North of Ashens: Thursday 17 September until the morning of Friday 16 October
North of Carrick Cemetery: Sunday 18 October until the morning of Friday 30 October
UPDATE (02/10/2026): Due to poor weather causing delays to the programme, road resurfacing on the A83 at Tarbert is currently expected to be completed by the morning of Tuesday 27 October.
Works will be carried out between the hours of 7pm and 6am each working night and are expected to be completed by the morning of Tuesday 27 October. No works will be carried out on Friday or Saturday nights.
To protect the workforce and members of the travelling public, road closures will be in place each working night with hourly amnesties provided at 8pm, 9pm, 10pm, 11pm, midnight, 1am, 2am, 3am, 4am and 5am to allow waiting vehicles to be escorted safely through the worksite. Closures will be implemented as follows:
Meall Mhor North Lodge and North of Ashens: Thursday 17 September until the morning of Wednesday 14 October
North of Carrick Cemetery: Wednesday 14 October until the morning of Tuesday 27 October

BEAR Scotland, on behalf of Transport Scotland, is set to deliver a programme of road resurfacing at three locations on the A83 north of Stonefield to West Tarbert from Thursday 10 September.
Works will be carried out between the hours of 7pm and 6am each working night and are expected to be completed by the morning of Wednesday 14 October. No works will be carried out on Friday or Saturday nights.

Access for emergency services and scheduled bus services will be maintained for the full duration of the works.
Consultation has taken place with all relevant stakeholders to make them aware of the traffic management arrangements and to minimise any inconvenience.
Euan Burnett, BEAR Scotland’s North West Planned Maintenance Manager said: “These road resurfacing works on the A83 will fix existing defects in the road surface, improving the quality and safety of the route for road users.
“We thank the local community and road users for their patience in advance of the work commencing.”
