A83 South Of Inverneil | Carriageway Improvements

A83 South Of Inverneil
30th of September 2025, 7:00pm to 15th of October 2025, 5:00am

BEAR Scotland, on behalf of Transport Scotland, will undertake essential carriageway improvements on the A83 just south of Inverneil starting on Tuesday 30 September.

The improvements will be carried out between 7pm and 5am, with all works expected to be completed by the morning of Wednesday 15 October. There will be no works between Sunday 5 to Saturday 11 October.

To protect the workforce and road users, this section of the A83 will be closed each night from Tuesday 30 September until Wednesday 15 October. Hourly amnesties will be offered at 8pm, 9pm, 10pm, 11pm, midnight, 1am 2am, 3am and 4am to allow road users to pass through the work site safely and continue their journey. There will be no road closures on Friday or Saturday nights.

The road will be open as normal outwith working hours to keep disruption to a minimum; however, a speed restriction of 30mph will remain in place as traffic will be running over a temporary road surface.

Access through the works site for emergency services will be maintained at all times.

Euan Scott, BEAR Scotland’s North West Representative said: “These surfacing works on the A83 will fix existing defects in the area and improve safety for road users.

“Our teams are committed to undertaking these works quickly and safety is our top priority. We’re grateful to the local community and road users for their patience.

“To minimise delays, we recommend that road users plan their journeys in advance by consulting the Traffic Scotland website for real-time travel updates.”
