A83 South Of Furnace | Drainage Improvement Works

BEAR Scotland, on behalf of Transport Scotland will be carrying out essential drainage improvement works on the A83, with works starting on Monday 16 March.

 

Works will be carried out between the hours of 8am and 4pm each day and are expected to be completed by the evening of Friday 20 March.

 

To protect both roadworkers and motorists, a convoy system will be in place under temporary traffic lights. Traffic management will be removed outwith working hours.

 

Access through the worksite for emergency vehicles will be maintained at all times.

 

Steve Taylor, BEAR Scotland’s Northwest Planned Maintenance Manager said; “These essential drainage improvement works will help reduce instances of flooding on the A83 Trunk Road and provide a safer route for motorists using the carriageway.

 

“Our teams will complete the works efficiently and safely, and we thank the local community and road users for their patience in advance while we complete these works.

 

“We encourage motorists to plan ahead before setting out by checking the Traffic Scotland website for up-to-date travel information.”
