UPDATE (13/02/2026): Due to poor weather, overnight resurfacing on the A83 at Ardgenavan could not be completed last night as planned. Works will resume on Sunday 15 February.
Ardgenavan: From Wednesday 4 February to the morning of Monday 16 February, night time closures will be implemented with amnesties provided to allow road users to pass through the site safely at 8pm, 9pm, 10pm, 11pm, midnight, 1am, 2am, 3am, 4am and 5am.
UPDATE (11/02/2026): Due to poor weather, overnight resurfacing on the A83 at Ardgenavan will not go ahead tonight (Wednesday 11 February). Please note new dates:

UPDATE (17/12/2025): Due to changes in the programme of works, overnight resurfacing on the A83 at Glaschoine House have now paused. Operatives will return on Thursday 29 January 2026.
Glaschoine House: Temporary traffic light and a 10mph convoy will be operated overnight from Thursday 29 January until the morning of Tuesday 3 February.
Ardgenavan: From Tuesday 3 February to the morning of Friday 6 February, nighttime closures will be implemented with amnesties provided to allow road users to pass through the site safely at 8pm, 9pm, 10pm, 11pm, midnight, 1am, 2am, 3am, 4am and 5am.
UPDDATE (10/12/2025): Due to the poor weather forecast, overnight resurfacing on the A83 at Glaschoine House will not go ahead for the rest of the week. The second phase of works at Ardgenavan will now start in February 2026.
UPDATE (09/12/2025): Due to poor weather associated with Storm Bram, overnight resurfacing on the A83 at Glaschoine House will not go ahead tonight (Tuesday 9 December).
BEAR Scotland, on behalf of Transport Scotland, is set to carry out essential improvements at two locations on the A83 north of Cairndow from Monday 8 December between the hours of 7pm and 6am.
These carriageway improvements are expected to be completed by the morning of Thursday 18 December.
To protect the workforce, this section of the A83 will be subject to appropriate traffic management measures:
Glaschoine House: Temporary traffic light and a 10mph convoy will be operated overnight from Monday 8 December to the morning of Monday 15 December.
Ardgenavan: From Wednesday 4th February to Wednesday 11th February, nighttime closures will be implemented with amnesties provided to allow road users to pass through the site safely at 8pm, 9pm, 10pm, 11pm, midnight, 1am, 2am, 3am, 4am and 5am.
There will be no works or road closure on Friday and Saturday nights.
Traffic management measures will be removed outwith working hours, however, a speed restriction of 30mph will remain in place during the day as traffic will be running on a temporary surface with no road markings.
Access through the works sites for emergency services will be maintained at all times.

“To minimise delays, we recommend that motorists plan their journeys in advance by consulting the Traffic Scotland website for real-time travel updates.”
