A82/A877 Invermoriston Junction and A82 between Lewiston and Strone | Resurfacing

BEAR Scotland, on behalf of Transport Scotland, will carry out essential overnight carriageway resurfacing works in two phases on the A82 at Invermoriston and west of Strone.

The works, that will improve road safety and surface conditions, will take place between 20:00 and 06:00 each night from Sunday 22 February, finishing on the morning of Friday 27 February, subject to weather conditions.

To protect the workforce and road users, different traffic management measures will be required at the two works locations.

• Phase 1 - A82 between Lewiston and Strone: From 20:00 on Sunday 22 February to 06:00 Wednesday 25 February, overnight road closures will be in place with timed amnesties allowing vehicles to pass through the works safely at 21:00, 22:00, 23:00, 00:00, 02:00 and 04:00.

• Phase 2 - A82/A887 at Invermoriston: From 20:00 Wednesday 25 February to 06:00 Friday 27 February, an overnight lane closure with convoy system will be in place. During this period, the A887 junction at Invermoriston will be closed, with a signed diversion route via the A87 and A82 in place for road users. This diversion will add up to 40 minutes onto expected journey times.

Access through both work sites for emergency services will be maintained at all times and scheduled bus services will also be accommodated during both phases of work.

Traffic management measures will be removed outside of scheduled working hours. However, a 30mph speed restriction and warning signage will remain in place at both locations during the works phases, to allow traffic to run safely on a temporary road surface.
