A828 Ledaig | Stabilisation Work Progress

BEAR Scotland, acting on behalf of Transport Scotland, has made significant progress on the ongoing rockslope stabilisation works at the A828 Ledaig.
 

On the northern section of the rockslope, installation of the rockfall protection mesh is now largely complete, with the remaining rock anchors currently being installed. Minor works are still required to complete the stitching of the mesh. 

Once complete, this will allow the temporary barrier systems used during construction to be removed.
 

Subject to favourable weather conditions and continued progress on site, this phase of the works is expected to be completed by the end of August 2026.
 

Following completion of the current activities, work at the site will pause while BEAR Scotland's geotechnical specialists finalise the design for the next and final phase of the project. 24-hour traffic lights will remain in place during this period to maintain the safety of both road users and the workforce.
 

Further information on the final phase of the scheme will be shared in the coming weeks once proposals have been confirmed.
