A82 Tarbet | Carriageway Improvements
UPDATE (21/08/2025): Works on the A82 at Tarbet will now require an additional three nights of works due the length of the scheme being extended to including the A82/A83 Junction. Works will now be complete on the morning of Thursday 28 August.
BEAR Scotland, working on behalf of Transport Scotland, is set to start essential carriageway improvements on the A82 at the south end of Tarbet.
Resurfacing works will take place from Sunday 17 August until the morning of Thursday 28 August. No works will take place on Thursday, Friday, Saturday or Sunday nights.
Road lining will be carried out after the surfacing works are complete, beginning the evening of Thursday 28 August and completing on the morning of Friday 29 August.
Works take place between 7pm and 6am under temporary traffic lights, with a convoy system used to allow traffic to safely pass through the work site.
The traffic management measures will be removed outwith working hours, however a 30mph temporary speed limit remain in place due to traffic driving over a temporary road surface without road markings.
Access for emergency services will be maintained at all times.
Euan Scott, BEAR Scotland’s North West Representative said: “These works will improve driving conditions and alleviate build-up of surface water that can occur on the carriageway.
“Our teams are committed to executing these works quickly and safety is our top priority. We extend our gratitude to the local community and road users for their patience while we complete the improvements.
“To minimise delays, we recommend that motorists plan their journeys in advance by consulting the Traffic Scotland website for real-time travel updates.”
