A82 Ruskich Wood | Ground Investigation Works

Ruskich Wood
2nd of November 2026, 7:00am to 28th of November 2026, 11:59pm

BEAR Scotland, on behalf of Transport Scotland, is set to carry out ground investigation works on the A82 trunk road at Ruskich Wood, approximately two miles north of Alltsigh.

Works will be carried out between the hours of 7am and 7pm, Monday to Saturday, and are expected to last for up to four weeks.

To ensure the safety of the workforce and members of the travelling public, a 24-hour northbound lane closure, controlled by temporary traffic lights, will be in place on the A82 for the duration of the works.

During working hours, there may be short periods where traffic is stopped in both directions to allow more complex works to be carried out safely.

All works are weather dependant and may be subject to cancellation and reprogramming if conditions are unsuitable.

Consultation has taken place with relevant stakeholders in advance of these works to make them aware of the traffic management arrangements and to minimise any inconvenience.

Michael Baxter, BEAR Scotland’s North West Improvements Scheme Manager said: “These ground investigation works are essential to support the detailed design and construction of a proposed northbound layby on the A82 Trunk Road.

“The works have been planned to minimise disruption to road users as far as possible, however some delays are to be expected, especially during peak times.

“We thank road users in advance for their patience and understanding while our teams carry out these essential works. A 30mph temporary speed limit will be in place and we ask road users to fully comply with temporary speed limits to ensure our workers can go home safely to their families each day.”
