A82 Rose Street And Harbour Street Roundabout | Resurfacing Works

BEAR Scotland, acting on behalf of Transport Scotland, is set to undertake essential resurfacing and road marking improvements at Rose Street Roundabout and Harbour Street Roundabout on the A82 Longman Road, in Inverness from Sunday 30 August.  

The works will be carried out overnight between the hours of 8pm and 6am and are expected to be completed by the morning of Friday 4 September.

To ensure the safety of the workforce and road users , a full road closure with signed diversions will be in place during working hours. A diversion route suitable for trunk road traffic will be signposted from Shore Street Roundabout to Longman Roundabout via Academy Street, Milburn Road and the A9, adding an estimated 1.4 miles and 5 minutes to affected journeys. The A82 will reopen each day outwith working hours.

For access to the retail park and bus station, northbound traffic will be directed via Academy Street and Strothers Lane.  Southbound traffic will remain unaffected.  Vehicles exiting the retail park and bus station will be directed via Margaret Street.

Access for emergency services and scheduled bus services will be maintained throughout the duration of the works.

Consultation has taken place with all relevant stakeholders in advance of the resurfacing improvements to ensure they are aware of the traffic management arrangements.

Steve Taylor, BEAR Scotland’s North West Planned Maintenance Manager said: “The works on the A82 at Rose Street Roundabout and Harbour Road Roundabout will address existing defects in the road surface and refresh road markings, improving the overall condition and safety of this key route for road users.

“Our teams will complete the works as efficiently as possible,  with safety remaining our highest priority. We thank the local community and road users for their patience and understanding while these essential improvements are carried out.”
