A82 North of Arden Roundabout | Filter Drain Recycling Works

Arden
3rd of November 2025, 7:30pm to 6th of December 2025, 6:00am

BEAR Scotland, on behalf of Transport Scotland, is set to carry out essential filter drain recycling works on the A82 north of Arden Roundabout.

The project involves using a recycling technique that cleans and reuses existing stone within the drainage system. This method eliminates the need for excavation and replacement with new materials, significantly reducing waste, conserving resources, and lowering the overall carbon footprint of the scheme.

These drainage works will continue for five weeks between the hours of 7:30pm and 6am, including Saturday and Sunday nights. The project is expected to be completed by the morning of Saturday 6 December.

During the initial stages of the project, traffic lights will be in place at each approach to Arden Roundabout to prevent queuing across the roundabout and to protect workers, road users, and pedestrians. Once the works have progressed beyond the roundabout, two-way traffic lights will be used. Temporary traffic management measures will be removed out with working hours.

Access through the worksite for emergency services will be maintained at all times.

Euan Scott, BEAR Scotland’s Northwest Unit Representative said; “These filter drain recycling works are essential in restoring the integrity of the filter drain drainage system. This will reduce instances of flooding on the carriageway and provide a safer route for motorists using the carriageway.

“Our teams will do all they can to complete the works as quickly and safely as they can. We have programmed these works to be carried out over night to reduce the impact on the travelling public, and we thank the local community and road users for their patience in advance while we complete these essential works.

“We encourage motorists to plan ahead before setting out by checking the Traffic Scotland website for up-to-date travel information.”
