BEAR Scotland, on behalf of Transport Scotland, are set to carry out works to replace three sections of the safety barrier on the A82 alongside Loch Lochy between Letterfinlay and Laggan Locks from Monday 16 November.

Works will be carried out between the hours of 8am and 7pm from Monday to Saturday each week and are expected to be completed by Monday 21 December.

To ensure the safety of the workforce and members of the travelling public, a single lane closure with two-way temporary traffic lights in operation 24 hours a day. In addition, a temporary 30mph speed limit will be in place for the duration of the works.

Consultation has taken place with relevant stakeholders in advance of these works to make them aware of the traffic management arrangements and to minimise any inconvenience.

Michael Baxter, BEAR Scotland’s North West Improvements Scheme Manager said: “The replacement of the safety barrier at Loch Lochy is key to ensuring the ongoing safe operation of the A82.

“The works have been planned to minimise disruption to road users and the local community as far as possible, however some delays are to be expected, especially during peak times.

“We thank road users in advance for their patience and understanding while our teams carry out these essential works and would ask them to fully comply with temporary speed limits.”
