A82 Glen Falloch, Inverarnan | Parapet and Barrier Installation

6th of October 2025, 8:00am to 21st of October 2025, 6:00pm

The safety of motorists using the A82 at Glen Falloch, north of Inverarnan is soon to be improved with the replacement of the bridge parapet and safety barrier at the Dubh Eas Bridge.

BEAR Scotland, on behalf of Transport Scotland, will be carrying out these works from Monday 06 October. The project is expected to take up to 15 days to complete. The improvements will be carried out between 8am and 6pm each day, with no works on Saturdays or Sundays.

The A82 will remain open throughout the works. To keep road workers and the travelling public safe, a lane closure with temporary traffic lights and a temporary 30mph speed limit will be in place for the duration of the works.

Euan Scott, BEAR Scotland’s North West Representative, said: “This project will improve safety for road users along this route by updating the parapet and safety barrier system, thereby reducing the chance of anyone leaving the road coming to harm. Due to environmental restrictions with protected species in the vicinity, we have a limited window to undertake the work. To minimise disruption we have scheduled the works to be undertaken out with the peak tourist season. Our teams will do all they can to finish the project as quickly and safely as possible.”

“We thank motorists for their patience in advance and would also encourage them to plan their journeys ahead by checking the Traffic Scotland website for up-to-date travel information.”
