A78 Wemyss Bay | Essential Sign Installation

Wemyss Bay to Skelmorlie
23rd of February 2026, 9:30am to 27th of February 2026, 4:00pm

Amey, on behalf of Transport Scotland, is undertaking essential sign installation works as part of the 20mph speed limit programme on the A78 at Wemyss Bay to Skelmorlie from Monday 23rd February until Friday 27th February 2026 between the hours of 9:30am and 4pm. This work will require single lane closures managed by 2-way temporary traffic lights.

Access for emergency service vehicles will be maintained throughout these works.

Please note, all schemes are weather dependent and may be cancelled or rescheduled if weather conditions are not favourable.

This scheme will benefit vehicles using this route each day, by informing future road safety improvement works in this location.

This initiative supports the Scottish Government’s commitment to improving road safety and reducing casualties by introducing 20 mph limits on appropriate roads across Scotland by March 2026. Road users are thanked for their patience and understanding while this work is being undertaken.
