A78 in Skelmorlie | Essential Drainage Improvements

Amey, on behalf of Transport Scotland, is undertaking essential drainage improvements on the A78 at Strathclyde House in Skelmorlie from 9pm on Friday 17th April until 5am on Monday 20th April 2026 under a full weekend closure.

Southbound traffic will be directed to follow Bankfoot Roundabout, Inverkip Roundabout, West Shaw Street, High Street, Dalrymple Street, Cartsburn, Main Street, East Hamilton Street, Greenock Road, Kingston Roundabout, Greenock Road, Comet Roundabout, Newark Roundabout, Langbank Roundabout, A8, A726 Barnsford Road, St James’ Roundabout, A737 westbound, Manrahead Roundabout, B777 Beith Road, School Wynd, A760 Largs Road and the Haylie Brae.

Northbound traffic will take the above diversion route in reverse.

Access for emergency service vehicles will be maintained throughout these works.

Please note, all schemes are weather dependent and may be cancelled or rescheduled if weather conditions are not favourable.
