A78 Prestwick | Resurfacing Works
Amey, on behalf of Transport Scotland, is undertaking essential resurfacing on the northbound A78 in Prestwick between Monktonhead Roundabout and Corraith Road, from Wednesday 22nd April until Monday 27th April 2026.
This work will require two overnight closures each night between 8pm and 6am on Wednesday 22nd and Thursday 23rd with all traffic management removed by 6am on Friday 24th April, followed by a full weekend closure at this location from 8pm on Friday 24th April until 6am on Monday 27th April 2026.
Northbound traffic will be diverted via the A78 southbound, the A77 northbound at Dutchhouse Roundabout, continue towards Kilmarnock, turn left onto the A71 Hurlford Road at Bellfield Interchange, take the second exit onto the A71 Hurlford Road at Moorfield Roundabout, continue A71 westbound towards Irvine and re-join the A78 at Warrix Interchange.
B746 to A78 northbound onslip traffic will be diverted onto the B746/Fullarton Place northbound, continue onto A759 Main Street, take the first exit at roundabout towards Meadowhead Roundabout and re-join the A78.
Access for emergency service vehicles will be maintained throughout these works.
