Amey, on behalf of Transport Scotland, is undertaking essential carriageway patching on the A78 northbound between Old Inverkip Road and Gateside Avenue in Greenock, from Wednesday 27th May until Monday 1st July 2026.

This work will require weekday daytime lane closures managed by temporary traffic lights between the hours of 9:30am and 3:30pm.

Temporary bus stops and pedestrian crossings will be in operation at this time.

Access for emergency service vehicles will be maintained throughout these works.

Please note, all schemes are weather dependent and may be cancelled or rescheduled if weather conditions are not favourable.

This scheme will benefit vehicles using this route each day, by improving the safety and condition of the carriageway in this location.

Road users are thanked for their patience and understanding while this work is being undertaken.
