A78 Largs | Scour Maintenance
Works Extended (09/12/2025)
Please be advised that due to adverse weather conditions, sea wall scour maintenance on the A78 Greenock Road at the North boundary of Largs (Postcode: KA30 8SB) will continue until Saturday 20th December 2025, where they will then pause to accommodate the Christmas break. Works will then resume on Monday 5th January and are expected to conclude by Friday 23rd January 2026. We apologise for any inconvenience this may cause.
Amey, on behalf of Transport Scotland, is undertaking essential sea wall scour maintenance on the A78 Greenock Road at the North boundary of Largs (Postcode: KA30 8SB) over a length of 300m from Monday 3rd November until Friday 12th December 2025 under continuous 24-hour lane closure controlled by temporary traffic lights. The southbound bus stop outside 172 Greenock Road, Largs, KA30 8SB will be closed for the duration of the works.
Access for emergency service vehicles will be maintained throughout these works.
Please note, all schemes are weather dependent and may be cancelled or rescheduled if weather conditions are not favourable.
This scheme will benefit vehicles using this route each day, by improving the safety and condition of the sea wall.
