A78 in Invine | Essential Coring
Amey, on behalf of Transport Scotland, is undertaking essential coring on the A78 in Irvine, between Meadowhead Roundabout and Newhouse Roundabout, from Monday 8th December until Thursday 11th December 2025 between the hours of 8pm and 6am each night.
From 8pm on Monday 8th December until 6am on Tuesday 9th December, an overnight carriageway closure shall be implemented in both directions. Traffic will be directed to exit the A78 and follow the A759 and the A737. Temporary traffic lights will be in operation at Meadowhead Roundabout to manage traffic where the diversion route meets the circulatory.
The remainder of the work will be carried out under overnight single lane closures. All traffic management will be removed by 6am on Thursday 11th December 2025.
Access for emergency service vehicles will be maintained throughout these works.
Please note, all schemes are weather dependent and may be cancelled or rescheduled if weather conditions are not favourable.
This scheme will benefit vehicles using this route each day, by informing future road safety improvement schemes in this location.
Road users are thanked for their patience and understanding while this work is being undertaken.
