A77 Girvan | Patching
Amey, on behalf of Transport Scotland, is undertaking essential patching on the A77 in Girvan, between Henrietta Street and Asda, from Tuesday 28th April until Sunday 10th May between the hours of 7pm and 6am each night.
This work will be delivered in three traffic management phases:
Phase 1 works will take place between Sacred Heart Catholic Primary School and Knockcushan Street from Tuesday 28th April to Friday 1st May. Traffic will be managed using convoy working, meaning vehicles will be escorted through the works by an escort vehicle. During this phase, access to Ailsa Street West will be closed, with a signed diversion in place.
Phase 2 works will take place between Old Street Cemetery and Asda from Friday 1st May to Saturday 2nd May. Convoy working will remain in operation. The Asda entrance will remain accessible until 11:30pm on each night. During this phase, access to Montgomerie Street will be closed, with a signed diversion in place.
Phase 3 works will take place between Henrietta Street (from Ailsa Street West) and Bridge Street Car Park from Sunday 3rd May to Friday 8th May. Traffic will be managed by a full trunk road closure with a signed diversion in place.
• Northbound traffic will be diverted between Shallochpark Roundabout and Bridgemill Roundabout via Coalpots Road and the B734.
• Southbound traffic will follow the same diversion route in reverse.
In addition to the above, temporary traffic lights will be in operation at weekends to facilitate road marking works.
At the end of Phase 2, temporary traffic lights will be in place covering the extents of Phase 1 and Phase 2 from Saturday 2nd May to Sunday 3rd May.
Temporary traffic lights will be in place again at the end of Phase 3, covering the Phase 3 extents, from Saturday 9th May to Sunday 10th May.
Access for emergency service vehicles will be maintained throughout these works.
Please note, all schemes are weather dependent and may be cancelled or rescheduled if weather conditions are not favourable.
This scheme will benefit vehicles using this route each day, by improving the safety and condition of the carriageway in this location.
Road users are thanked for their patience and understanding while this work is being undertaken.
