A77 Ardwell | Resurfacing

Ardwell/Girvan
20th of July 2026, 7:00pm to 14th of August 2026, 6:00am

Amey, on behalf of Transport Scotland, is undertaking essential resurfacing on the A77 between Ardwell and Girvan from Monday 20th July until Friday 14th August 2026 under the following traffic management arrangements:

PHASE 1 – Overnight convoy from Monday 20th July to Friday 24th July 2026 between 7pm and 6am each night and Daytime convoy from Monday 27th July to Friday 31st July 2026 between 7am and 6pm each day.

PHASE 2 – Overnight closures from Monday 3rd August to Friday 7th August 2026 and from Monday 10th August to Friday 14th August 2026 between 7pm and 6am each night.

A signed diversion will be in operation.
At Shallochpark Roundabout, southbound traffic will be directed to follow the A714 through Pinmore, Pinwherry, Barrhill, Bargrennan and Challoch to North Barnkirk. At North Barnkirk, traffic will turn right onto the unclassified road towards South Barnkirk and continue to the A75. After turning right onto the A75, diverted traffic will proceed to the junction with the A751, where it will then follow the permanent signs to Stranraer or Innermessan.
Northbound traffic should follow the same diversion route in reverse.

From Tuesday 21st July to Friday 24th July 2026 and Tuesday 4th August 2026 to Friday 14th August 2026 between 6am and 7pm each day and from Monday 27th July 2026 to 30th July 2026 between 7pm and 6am each night, temporary traffic lights will be required on this section of the A77, as necessary, to facilitate the safe execution of the works and the management of traffic throughout the construction period.

Access for emergency service vehicles will be maintained throughout these works.

Please note, all schemes are weather dependent and may be cancelled or rescheduled if weather conditions are not favourable.

This scheme will benefit vehicles using this route each day, by improving the safety and condition of the carriageway in this location.

Road users are thanked for their patience and understanding while this work is being undertaken.
