6th of September 2026, 8:30pm to 19th of September 2026, 6:00am

Amey, on behalf of Transport Scotland, is undertaking essential resurfacing on the A76, between Jock’s Loaning and Glasgow Road, one mile north of Dumfries, from Sunday 6th September until Saturday 19th September 2026.

This work will require overnight convoys in this location between the hours of 8:30pm and 6am each night, as well as daytime temporary traffic lights.

Overnight closures in this location will be required on Wednesday 9th September, Thursday 10th September, Tuesday 15th September and Wednesday 16th September 2026. Traffic will be diverted via Newton Road and Newbridge Road.

Access for emergency service vehicles will be maintained throughout these works.

Please note, all schemes are weather dependent and may be cancelled or rescheduled if weather conditions are not favourable.

This scheme will benefit vehicles using this route each day, by improving the safety and condition of the carriageway surface in this location.

Road users are thanked for their patience and understanding while this work is being undertaken.
