A76 at New Cumnock South Gateway | Resurfacing

A76 at New Cumnock South Gateway
5th of October 2026, 8:00pm to 7th of October 2026, 6:00am

Amey, on behalf of Transport Scotland, is undertaking essential resurfacing on the A76 at New Cumnock South Gateway from Monday 5th October until Tuesday 6th October 2026 (8pm – 6am, each night).

This work requires overnight closures on the A76 between Cumnock and Carronbridge. Southbound traffic will exit the A76 at Dettingen Roundabout and follow Ayr Road, New Bridge Street, Barrhill Road, Muirkirk Road, the B7078 and the A702 to re-join the A76. Northbound will follow the same diversion route in reverse.

Access for emergency service vehicles will be maintained throughout these works.

Please note, all schemes are weather dependent and may be cancelled or rescheduled if weather conditions are not favourable.

This scheme will benefit vehicles using this route each day, by improving the safety and condition of the carriageway in this location.

Road users are thanked for their patience and understanding while this work is being undertaken.
