A76 Mauchline | Resurfacing
(UPDATE 27/11/25) Please be advised that due to weather-related delays, resurfacing on the A76 at Crosshands Junction, north of Mauchline, is now due to take place from Sunday 30th November until Saturday 6th December 2025.
Amey, on behalf of Transport Scotland, is undertaking essential resurfacing on the A76 at Crosshands Junction, north of Mauchline, from Sunday 23rd November until Saturday 29th November 2025 between the hours of 8pm and 6am each night.
This work will require overnight closures of the A76 between Dettingen Roundabout and Crossroads Roundabout and signed diversions will be in operation as follows:
Northbound traffic will be diverted via the A70 at Dettingen Roundabout and follow Holmston Roundabout, the A77 northbound, Whitletts Roundabout, the B742 and the A719 to re-join the A76 at Crossroads Roundabout.
Southbound traffic will be diverted via the A719 at Crossroads Roundabout and follow the A719, the B742, Sandyford Toll Roundabout, Whitletts Roundabout, Holmston Roundabout and the A70 to re-join the A76 at Dettingen Roundabout.
Vehicles over 14ft/4.2m high will be directed to follow the permanently signed diversion route on the A70. Northbound traffic will be directed to follow U728, B7046, B730 and re-join the A70 at Coalhall. Southbound traffic will take this route in reverse.
Access for emergency service vehicles will be maintained throughout these works.
Please note, all schemes are weather dependent and may be cancelled or rescheduled if weather conditions are not favourable.
This scheme will benefit vehicles using this route each day, by improving the safety and condition of the carriageway in this location.
