A76 Kirkconnel | Resurfacing
Adverse Weather (24/11/2025)
Please be advised that due to adverse weather conditions, planned resurfacing on the A76 at Kirkconnel between Polveoch Bridge and Duke Street will now take place from Monday 24th November until Friday 28th November 2025 between the hours of 8pm and 6am each night.
Amey, on behalf of Transport Scotland, is undertaking essential resurfacing on the A76 at Kirkconnel between Polveoch Bridge and Duke Street, from Monday 17th November until Friday 21st November 2025 between the hours of 8pm and 6am each night.
This work will require overnight closures of the A76 carriageway in both directions and signed diversions will be in operation as follows:
Northbound traffic will be directed to exit the A76 at C133N Holestane Road and follow the A702 to Abington Services and continue to B7078 and the A70 Ayr Road to re-join the A76 at Dettingen Roundabout.
Southbound traffic will take the above diversion route in reverse.
Access for emergency service vehicles will be maintained throughout these works.
Please note, all schemes are weather dependent and may be cancelled or rescheduled if weather conditions are not favourable.
This scheme will benefit vehicles using this route each day, by improving the safety and condition of the carriageway in this location.
Road users are thanked for their patience and understanding while this work is being undertaken.
