A76 Crosshands Junction | Resurfacing
Amey, on behalf of Transport Scotland, is undertaking essential resurfacing on the A76, north of Crosshands Junction, between Kilmarnock and Mauchline, from Monday 25th May until Wednesday 10th June 2026.
This work will require overnight closures between the hours of 8pm and 6am from Monday 25th May until Friday 29th May.
Northbound traffic will exit the A76 at Dettingen Roundabout and follow the A70, Holmston Roundabout, A77 northbound, Whitlett’s Roundabout, Sandyford Toll Roundabout, the B742 and the A719 to re-join the A76 at Crosshands Roundabout.
Vehicles over 14ft/4.2m will be directed to follow the permanently signed diversion route via the U728, the B7046 through Sinclairston, the B730 through Drongan and the A70 at Coathall.
Southbound traffic will take the above diversion routes in reverse.
An overnight convoy will then be in operation between the hours of 8pm and 6am from Monday 1st June until Wednesday 10th June 2026.
A daytime convoy will be in operation between the hours of 6am and 8pm for the duration of these works.
Access for emergency service vehicles will be maintained throughout these works.
Please note, all schemes are weather dependent and may be cancelled or rescheduled if weather conditions are not favourable.
This scheme will benefit vehicles using this route each day, by improving the safety and condition of the carriageway in this location.
Road users are thanked for their patience and understanding while this work is being undertaken.
