A75 North Of Annan | Essential Maintenance Works

North of Annan

Amey, on behalf of Transport Scotland, is undertaking essential maintenance, including resurfacing, footway maintenance and signage upgrades, on the A75 at Stapleton Road, north of Annan, from Thursday 7th May until Thursday 14th May 2026.
 

This work will require an overnight closure from 8pm on Thursday 7th May until 6am on Friday 8th May, followed by a full weekend closure from 8pm on Friday 8th May until 6am on Monday 11th May, and overnight closures from Monday 11th May until Thursday 14th May. Out with these times, temporary traffic lights will be in operation.
 

All traffic management will be removed by 6am on Friday 15th May 2026.
 

Local Diversion Route
A75 Westbound traffic shall leave the A75 by turning left on to B6357 Stapleton Road, travelling south on Stapleton Road, turning right on to Scott’s Street (B721 Westbound) and continuing along route to re-join the A75.
A75 Eastbound traffic will follow the same route as above in reverse.
 

Trunk Road Diversion
A75 Eastbound traffic will exit the A75 at the Brownrigg Roundabout to join the A709. Traffic will continue along the A709 through Lochmaben to Lockerbie. Traffic will turn left to join the B7076 Southbound, taking the second exit at the roundabout and turning left to rejoin the B7076 and continue heading south on the route to Gretna Green.  Traffic will then turn right left at the junction with Glasgow Rd and continue south to the A75 Onslip.
A75 Westbound traffic will follow the same route in reverse.
 

Access for emergency service vehicles will be maintained throughout these works.
 

Please note, all schemes are weather dependent and may be cancelled or rescheduled if weather conditions are not favourable.
