Amey, on behalf of Transport Scotland, is undertaking essential resurfacing on the A75, east of Three Lochs Holiday Park near Kirkcowan, from Monday 14th October until Sunday 27th October 2024 between the hours of 7pm and 6am each night. This work will be undertaken with overnight road closures and convoy working as follows –
The A75 will be closed between 7pm and 6am each night, between Monday 14th October and Sunday 20th October with traffic management removed by 6am on Monday 21st October.
There will then be overnight convoy working between 7pm and 6am each night, between Monday 21st October and Saturday 26th October with traffic management removed by 6am on Sunday 27th October.
There will also be daytime Temporary Traffic Lights in place between 6am and 7pm on Tuesday 15th, Wednesday 16th, Monday 21st and Tuesday 22nd October.
Signed diversions will be in operation during the closures as follows:
Westbound traffic will leave the A75 at the A714 at Newton Stewart, following south towards Wigtown and following the B7005 to bypass the town before continuing on the A714 to Braehead then turning right onto the B7085 and following to Port William, before turning right onto the A747 and rejoining the A75 at Glenluce.
Eastbound traffic will take the above route in reverse.
The diversion route will add an additional 25 minutes onto journeys.
Access for emergency service vehicles will be maintained throughout these works.
Please note, all schemes are weather dependent and may be cancelled or rescheduled if weather conditions are not favourable.
This scheme will benefit vehicles using this route each day, by improving the condition of the carriageway and reducing the need for more extensive maintenance in the future.
