6th of November 2026, 8:00pm to 10th of November 2026, 6:00am

Amey, on behalf of Transport Scotland, continues to undertake essential maintenance on the A737 St James’ Viaduct link to M8 Junction 28A following the successful installation of the new expansion joint on the eastbound carriageway in Summer 2026. Work to replace the expansion joint on the east abutment will take place throughout October 2026 with various traffic management arrangements.

Extended Full Weekend Closures:

Following the cancellation of the weekend closure on the 23rd October due to Storm Boelo works have been rearranged for: 8pm on Friday 6th November until 6am on Tuesday 10th November 2026

Traffic will be diverted onto the A737 off slip to St James' Interchange to join the M8 via the Junction 29 eastbound on-slip, where this diversion will end.

Following the completion of the weekend closure the bridging plates and the 30mph speed restriction will be removed.

Please note, all schemes are weather dependent and may be cancelled or rescheduled if weather conditions are not favourable.

This scheme will benefit vehicles using this route each day, by improving the safety of the carriageway in this location.

Road users are thanked for their patience and understanding while this work is being undertaken.
