A737 Southbound On-Slip At St James Interchange | Essential Surfacing Works
Amey, on behalf of Transport Scotland, is undertaking essential surfacing works on the southbound A737 on-slip road at St James Interchange, Paisley, from Monday 2nd November until Friday 6th November 2026. The works will take place overnight between the hours of 8pm and 6am each night.
During the works the A737 southbound on-slip from St James Interchange will be closed, with a signed diversion in place.
Traffic should continue on the A726 from St James Interchange and turn left onto St James Street, left onto Niddry Street, right onto Renfrew Road and left onto Incle Street, then continue through Mill Street, Gordon Street, Canal Street, George Street and Ferguslie Road. At the roundabout, take the second exit onto Linwood Road and continue to Linclive Interchange to rejoin the A737, where the diversion ends. The diversion represents an additional 14 minutes of travel time.
The M8 westbound link from Junction 28A to the A737 southbound via St James Viaduct will also be closed each night, with traffic diverted to St James Interchange to join the A726 and follow the signed diversion.
Access for emergency service vehicles will be maintained throughout these works.
Please note, all schemes are weather dependent and may be cancelled or rescheduled if weather conditions are not favourable.
Road users are thanked for their patience and understanding while this work is being undertaken.
