A725 Westbound at Whistleberry | Essential Resurfacing

Amey, on behalf of Transport Scotland, is undertaking essential resurfacing on the westbound, from Monday 28th September until Thursday 1st October 2026. This work will take place overnight between the hours of 8pm and 6am each night.

Monday 28th September and Wednesday 30th September, 8pm to 6am each night:

This work will require the overnight closure of the A725 westbound off slip to Whistleberry. During these closures, traffic will be directed to remain on the westbound A725 to take the Main Street off-slip, take the fourth exit at the roundabout join A725 EB, continue on A725 and take EB off-slip to Whistleberry Rd.

A nearside lane closure will also be in operation during this time on the A725 westbound, in advance of the Whistleberry off-slip.

Tuesday 29th September, 8pm to 6am each night

A total closure of the A725 westbound between Raith Interchange and Whistleberry off-slip will be in operation during this time. Traffic will be directed to take the Raith Interchange off slip, taking the fourth exit onto Bellshill Bypass, left on to Bothwell Road, right on to Almada Street, right on to Burbank Road, right again on to Glasgow Road and rejoining the A725 westbound via on-slip.

Additionally, a total closure of the westbound Raith Interchange on slip will be in operation. Traffic will be directed to take the Bellshill Bypass Exit and follow the above diversion.

Access for emergency service vehicles will be maintained throughout these works.

Please note, all schemes are weather dependent and may be cancelled or rescheduled if weather conditions are not favourable.

This scheme will benefit vehicles using this route each day, by improving the safety and condition of the carriageway in this location.
