A725 Blantyre | Resurfacing Works

Amey, on behalf of Transport Scotland, is undertaking essential resurfacing on the A725 slip roads at Blantyre Industrial Estate from Wednesday 21st May until Sunday 1st June 2025 as follows: 
 

8pm-6am Wednesday 21st May to Friday 23rd May 
Closure of the westbound off slip road to Main Street 
Lane closure on the westbound A725 
Lane closure on the B7012 Roundabout 
Closure of the westbound on slip road from Glasgow Road 
6am-8pm Thursday 22nd May and Friday 23rd May 
Closure of the westbound off slip road to Main Street 
 

8pm Friday 23rd May to 6am Monday 26th May 
Closure of the westbound on slip road from Main Street 
Lane closure on the westbound A725 
Lane closure on the B7012 Roundabout 
 

8pm-6am Wednesday 28th May and Thursday 29th May 
Closure of the eastbound off slip road to Main Street 
Lane closure on the eastbound A725 
Lane closure on the B7012 Roundabout leading to a closure of the B7012 Main Street roundabout from 
6am-8pm Thursday 29th May 
Closure of the eastbound off slip road to Main Street 
 

8pm-6am Friday 30th May and Saturday 31st May 
Closure of the eastbound on slip road from Main Street 
Lane closure on the eastbound A725 
Lane closure on the B7012 Roundabout 
 

Traffic management will be removed by 6am on Sunday 1st June. 
 

Signed diversions will be in place as follows: 
B7012 westbound off slip road - Traffic will continue on the A725 and turn at Mavor Roundabout to return eastbound and leave the A725 at the eastbound off slip road. 
A724 westbound on slip road – Traffic will continue on the A724 before turning right onto the B7012, taking the second exit at the roundabout onto Second Road then turning left onto East Avenue and then taking the third exit at the roundabout onto Hillhouse Road then the first exit at the next roundabout onto the B758 to join the westbound A725.  
Westbound on slip road - Traffic will follow the B7012 taking the second exit at the roundabout onto Second Road then turning left onto East Avenue and then taking the third exit at the roundabout onto Hillhouse Road then the first exit at the next roundabout onto the B758 to join the westbound A725. 
Eastbound off slip road - Traffic will continue on the A725 and turn at Raith Roundabout to return westbound and leave the A725 at the westbound off slip road. 
Eastbound on slip road - Traffic will join the westbound A725 and turn at Mavor Roundabout to return eastbound. 
 

Access for emergency service vehicles will be maintained throughout these works. 
 

Please note, all schemes are weather dependent and may be cancelled or rescheduled if weather conditions are not favourable. 
 

This scheme will benefit vehicles using this route each day, by improving the condition of the carriageway and reducing the need for more extensive maintenance in the future.
