A725 Blantyre | Bridge Expansion Joint Replacements

A725 Blantyre
2nd of February 2026, 8:00pm to 7th of February 2026, 6:00am

Amey, on behalf of Transport Scotland, is undertaking bridge expansion joint replacements on the A725 in Blantyre.

Work will take place from Monday 2nd February until Friday 6th February 2026, between the hours of 8pm and 6am each night. All traffic management will be removed by 6am on Saturday 7th February 2026.

This work will require overnight closures of the A725 northbound carriageway from Monday 2nd February until Saturday 7th February 2026, and closures of the southbound carriageway on Thursday 5th February and Friday 6th February 2026. Signed diversions will be in operation as follows:

During the northbound closures, traffic will be directed to exit the A725 at the Douglas Street off slip and follow the B7012 to the Main Street A725 on slip.
During the southbound closures, traffic will be directed to exit the A725 at the East Kilbride off slip and follow B7012 Main Street, Douglas Street and the B758 to the A725 on slip.

Access for emergency service vehicles will be maintained throughout these works.

Please note, all schemes are weather dependent and may be cancelled or rescheduled if weather conditions are not favourable.

This scheme will benefit vehicles using this route each day, by improving the safety and condition of the carriageway structure in this location.

Road users are thanked for their patience and understanding while this work is being undertaken.
