A720 at Lothianburn Junction | Carriageway Repairs
A short diversion for eastbound traffic on the A720 Edinburgh City Bypass will be in place between 20:30 and 06:00 on the night of Thursday 17 September, to allow Transport Scotland’s operating company BEAR Scotland to carry out repairs to the road surface.
Eastbound traffic on the A720 will be diverted off the main carriageway at Lothianburn Junction, over the roundabout and then immediately back on again.
This will add approximately 1 minute and 0.1 miles to affected journeys.
Access for emergency vehicles will be maintained at all times.
Relevant stakeholders have been consulted in advance to make them aware of the plans.
Tommy Deans, BEAR Scotland’s South East Network Manager, said: “It’s necessary to close the eastbound A720 at Lothianburn Junction to allow us to carry out repairs to the carriageway.
“We’ll do this overnight to minimise disruption and the diversion is a short one, so no significant delays are expected.”
