A702 | Drainage Investigation Works

between Hillend and Nine Mile Burn
20th of July 2026, 7:30pm to 14th of August 2026, 5:30am

Night-time temporary traffic lights will be in place on the A702 between Hillend and Nine Mile Burn for four weeks, to allow Transport Scotland’s operating company BEAR Scotland to carry out drainage investigation works.

The two-way traffic lights will be in place between 19:30 and 05:30 on Monday to Friday nights from 20 July to 14 August.

Tommy Deans, BEAR Scotland’s Southeast Network Manager, said: “These investigation works will enhance drainage on this stretch of the A702, improving safety for motorists using the trunk road.

“This phase of the works requires night-time temporary traffic lights to allow our operatives to carry out the work safely.

“We thank road users and local communities for their understanding.”
