A702 Boghall | Overnight Resurfacing

Boghall
23rd of March 2026, 7:30pm to 24th of March 2026, 6:30am

Overnight works to renew the road surface on the A702 at Boghall are set to take place on 23 March.

Transport Scotland’s operating company BEAR Scotland will carry out the project between 19:30 and 06:30.

For the safety of workers and road users, the A702 will be closed between Hillend Junction and Easter Howgate during these hours.

A diversion route suitable for trunk road traffic will be signposted, via the A703 Seafield Moor Road, the A701 and Bush Loan Road, adding an estimated 1.9 miles and 4 minutes to affected journeys.

Consultation has taken place with relevant stakeholders in advance of these works to make them aware of the traffic management arrangements and to minimise any inconvenience.

Tommy Deans, BEAR Scotland’s South East Network Manager, said: “These surfacing improvements on the A702 at Boghall will improve skid resistance on this section of road, creating safer journeys for motorists.

“It is essential for safety that we close the carriageway during the works, however we’ve scheduled them to be carried out during overnight to minimise any disruption.

“We thank road users in advance for their patience while our teams carry out these improvements.”
