Tinwald Downs Roundabout
27th of January 2025, 12:00am to 26th of April 2025, 6:00am

(UPDATE 15/4/25) Please be advised that due to clashing utilities works on site, additional work to complete drainage works on the A701 at Tinwald Downs Roundabout is required. Daytime works will complete by Thursday 17th April 2025, traffic management will be removed during the afternoon and work will then pause for the Easter weekend. Overnight works (7pm - 6am) will resume from Monday 21st April until 6am on Saturday 26th April 2025 under temporary traffic lights and convoy.

Heathhall Garden Centre and Heathhall Dumfries Esso Express are open for business. We appreciate the patience and understanding of our stakeholders as we work to improve the drainage in this area.

UPDATE (03/04/25): Please be advised that due to operational delays, four night shifts will be required to complete drainage works on the A701 at Tinwald Downs Roundabout. This overnight work will take place from Monday 14th April until Friday 18th April between the hours of 8pm and 6am each night. All traffic management will be removed by 6am on Friday 18th April 2025

Amey, on behalf of Transport Scotland, is undertaking essential drainage works on the A701 at Tinwald Downs Roundabout from Monday 27th January until Monday 31st March 2025.  This work will be carried out under continuous 24-hour temporary traffic lights. Access for emergency service vehicles will be maintained throughout these works.

Please note, all schemes are weather dependent and may be cancelled or rescheduled if weather conditions are not favourable.

This scheme will benefit vehicles using this route each day, by improving the drainage of the carriageway and reducing the need for more extensive maintenance in the future.
