Beattock
3rd of July 2026, 12:00am to 30th of September 2026, 11:59pm

Please be advised that cycleway and footway improvement works are scheduled to take place between Monday 3rd July and Wednesday 30th September 2026 on the shared footpath/cycleway adjacent to the A701 carriageway at Beattock.

The works will be carried out in three distinct phases, each operating under different traffic and pedestrian management arrangements. This approach is designed to minimise disruption as far as reasonably practicable for both residents and road users.

Phase 1
Location: Beattock Interchange to Beattock South Main Road
No traffic management will be in place on the A701
A daytime diversion for pedestrians and cyclists will be implemented

Phase 2
Location: Beattock South Main Road to Kirkpatrick Juxta Parish Church
Night-time closure of the cycleway will be required to safely undertake the works

Phase 3
Location: Kirkpatrick Juxta Parish Church to the B7076
Temporary traffic lights (TTLs) will be in operation with a single lane closure
Daytime lane closures will be controlled by TTLs

Specific dates for these works on each phase are still to be confirmed.

Please note, all schemes are weather dependent and may be cancelled or rescheduled if weather conditions are not favourable.

Residents and frequent asset users are thanked for their patience and understanding while this work is being undertaken.
