A7 Selkirk | Footway Resurfacing
Transport Scotland’s operating company BEAR Scotland is set to resurface the pedestrian footway on the A7 along Hillside Terrace in Selkirk.
The works will commence on Monday 20 July and continue for five weeks.
For the safety of workers and the public, footway closures and temporary traffic lights will be in place between Tower Street and the junction with the A699, 24 hours a day from Monday to Friday each week during the works.
No closures or traffic lights will be in place at weekends.
Tommy Deans, BEAR Scotland’s South East Network Manager, said: “We’ll be renewing the pedestrian footway on the A7 along Hillside Terrace over the next few weeks.
“This forms part of our ongoing responsibility to maintain the trunk road and is not related to proposals for improving pedestrian safety in the town centre that were recently shared at a public exhibition.
“We’ll do everything we can to complete these improvements as quickly and safely as possible. We’re grateful to local residents for their patience and understanding.”
All works are weather dependent and subject to postponement in the event of adverse conditions.
