A1 South of Penmanshiel | Resurfacing Works
The A1 south of Penmanshiel will be closed for overnight resurfacing works between 19:30 and 06:00 on the nights of Tuesday 2 to Friday 5 June, and Monday 8 June.
Transport Scotland’s operating company BEAR Scotland will be managing the works.
A signed diversion route will be in place between Cockburnspath and Ayton via the A1107, adding an additional 7 minutes and 1.2 miles to journeys.
Tommy Deans, BEAR Scotland’s South East Network Manager, said: “These works will renew almost 700 metres of deteriorated carriageway, resulting in smoother and safer journeys for road users.
“We understand that road closures can be disruptive, so we’ve planned for these works to take place overnight to reduce their impact.
“We thank the local community for their patience while these essential improvements are completed.”
All work is weather dependent and subject to postponement in the event of adverse conditions.
