A1 Northbound South of Dolphingstone | Resurfacing Works
BEAR Scotland, on behalf of Transport Scotland, will carry out overnight resurfacing works on the Northbound A1 south of Dolphingstone Junction from Monday 12 to Friday 30 October.
The works will take place between 19:30 and 06:00 each night. No works are planned on Saturday or Sunday nights.
During the closures, northbound road users will be required to leave the A1 at Bankton Junction and follow a signed diversion route via the A198, B1361 and A199, rejoining the A1 at Wallyford Junction.
The diversion will add approximately 1.2 miles and 10 minutes to affected journeys.
Emergency services will be given access through the works at all times.
Tommy Deans, BEAR Scotland’s South East Network Manager, said: “These resurfacing works will improve the condition of the A1 northbound carriageway and provide a smoother, safer surface for road users.
“It is essential for the safety of road users and our workforce that we close the carriageway while resurfacing takes place. We have scheduled the works overnight to minimise disruption as much as possible.
“We advise anyone travelling on this route during the works to plan ahead and allow additional time for the diversion.
“We thank road users and local communities in advance for their patience and understanding while these improvements are completed.”
All work is weather dependent and subject to postponement in the event of adverse conditions.
