A1 Abbotsview | Road Marking Works

Abbotsview
29th of October 2026, 8:00pm to 30th of October 2026, 6:00am

The slip road onto the northbound A1 trunk road at Abbotsview Junction near Haddington will be closed for road marking works on the night of Thursday 29 October between 20:00 and 06:00.

The works will be carried out by Transport Scotland’s operating company BEAR Scotland.

A signed diversion route will be in place from Abbotsview junction to Oaktree Junction via the A199, adding approximately 0.3 miles and 2 minutes to affected journeys.

Emergency services will be given access through the works at all times.

Relevant stakeholders have been consulted in advance to make them aware of the plans.

Tommy Deans, BEAR Scotland’s South East Network Manager, said: “It is essential for the safety of the workforce and the public that we close the carriageway while work to refresh road markings takes place. We’ll do this at night to minimise any disruption.”

All work is weather dependent and subject to postponement in the event of adverse conditions.
