Safety Improvements on A96 at Lhanbryde

SCHEME UPDATE (29/04/24): Essential upgrades on the A96 at Lhanbryde.

Amey will carry out essential upgrades on the A96 at Lhanbryde that will include the installation of new passively safe lighting columns, signs, safe posts and replacements of bollards and uplighters from Tuesday 7th May to Friday 31st May.

Works will be located in Lhanbryde on the A96, east of Elgin. Upgrades will be carried out on the two roundabouts at Lhanbryde and at these roundabout approaches.

Works will now take place weekly from Sunday to Thursday between 7.30pm and 6.30am, except the first week of work which will take place from Tuesday 7th May to Thursday 9th May.

The A96 at Lhanbryde is set to benefit from £120,000 worth of upgrades that will include the installation of new passively safe lighting columns, signs, safe posts and replacements of bollards and uplighters.

Amey will carry out these essential upgrades from Tuesday 7th May to Friday 31st May.

Works will be located in Lhanbryde on the A96, east of Elgin. Upgrades will be carried out on the two roundabouts at Lhanbryde and at these roundabout approaches.

To ensure the safety of roadworkers and motorists three-way and four-way traffic lights will be in place along the works area and clear signage will be provided.

Works will take place between 7.30pm and 6.30am weekdays.

These upgrades will benefit more than 16,900 vehicles who use this route each day, improving overall safety from better visibility of roundabout signs from the addition of new sign lights. These works will also reduce future maintenance cost due to the installation of passively safe aluminium columns.

Please note, all schemes are weather dependent and may be cancelled or rescheduled if weather conditions are not favourable.
