A8 Port Glasgow | Scottish Water Top Up Tap Installation

Greenock Road, Port Glasgow

Road Traffic Management to enable Scottish Water Top Up Tap Install

Scottish Water is advising users of some road traffic management in Port Glasgow to enable ones of its iconic Top Up Taps to be installed in the town.

From Monday 6 May 2024, a short stretch of Greenock Road near to Coronation Park will be reduced to one lane for approximately nine days.

This will allow groundworks to be carried out to ensure the new Top Up Taps can be installed in Coronation Park and connect to the water main at this location.

Road Traffic Management has been agreed in conjunction with Amey.

Georgina Reid, Scottish Water's corporate affairs manager in the west region said, "We are excited to bring one of our shiny new, blue Top Up Taps to Port Glasgow! Once installed, people in the town will be able to enjoy great-tasting Scottish Water while they're on the go - all they need to remember is their refillable water bottle".

"We appreciate that the road traffic management required for its installation might cause some delays for road users. However, without the temporary restrictions in place there is simply no other way of installing the tap safety due to the location of their water main. We would like to thank road users and local residents in advance for their patience and understanding"

Scottish Water's Your Water Your Life campaign encourges people to carry a refillable water bottle and drink tap water on the go to benefit their health, save money and help protect the planet. Find out more about the campaign at www.yourwateryourlife.co.uk
