Amey, on behalf of Transport Scotland, will carry out essential overnight repairs to the underside of the Friarton Bridge near Perth next month to fix a leaking pipe.

The leak currently presents a risk to the mainline Dundee-Perth railway track and surrounding land underneath the bridge.

Emergency repair work is scheduled to take place between Monday 5th December and Friday 9th December.

To allow the project to be carried out in a safe and efficient manner, the following closures of lane one of the northbound carriageway on Friarton Bridge will be necessary:

Monday 5th December between 9:30am and 3.30pm.
Overnight from Tuesday 6th - Thursday 8th December between 7.30pm and 5.30am.

All on slips and off slips near the bridge will remain open during the work.

Work will include an inspection of the bridge expansion joints on Monday 5th December, followed by teams working overnight to carry out the necessary drainage repairs to the carrier pipes underneath the bridge.

Our operatives follow strict physical distancing and hygiene protocols throughout the programme, in line with the current Scottish Government’s COVID-19 guidance.

Please note, all schemes are weather dependent and may be cancelled or rescheduled if weather conditions are not favourable.
